Inspired by Weston

I've always loved and admired the work of Edward Weston... particularly his shells and peppers.  My parents thought I was crazy when I purchased a pepper I saw at the store just because I wanted to photograph it...  I definitely saw photographic potential!  I am quite excited about how these turned out.  Unlike Weston, I shot digitally and in color.  I desaturated the color to make the images black and white, but I am excited about how much they look like silver prints to me.

Toni and Sandy's Wedding

This wedding was very laid back and small.  It was beautiful though!

Her sons walked her down the isle.
You may now kiss the bride!

Sucker for Sunsets

I am a sucker for a beautiful sunset!  I love colors and nature, and I think that a sunset is one of the most beautiful things that nature has to offer.  A sunset at it's most vibrant point is a very fleeting moment, and every sunset is unique and special and it's own way.  Here are a few shots from a couple nights ago!

OH OH Can't Get Enough! (Rooney in Austin)

Night two of Rooney for me was in Austin.  For them it was their 66th show since they started the tour in June. These boys are crazy, but props to them for taking advantage of being on tour and getting their music out! They are absolutely amazing to see, and they say they will be back out in January!  I am definitely in for that!  I think I am still on a bit of a Rooney concert high.  I absolutely love singing my heart out to the songs!  So great!  I love all the guys in the band too.  They even hang around after the show to hang out with the fans!  I love when the bands can do that sort of thing and genuinely seem to care about meeting those that love them! Enjoy!

Quiet Company in ATX at Emo's

Quiet Company was one of the openers for Rooney while they were in Austin.  Amazing!  They have a trombone player as part of the band, and man they have some energy!  If you're in the Austin area, you should definitely try and check them out!  It's well worth it!

Rooney in Houston

It's been probably 6 years or so since I had seen Rooney.  WOW!  I love their shows: high energy, great and fun music.  I was there with The Good Groupie, and she will do a MUCH better job at recalling the show for you!  These were taken on my good ol' point-and-shoot camera.  I do love this camera, but the pictures aren't quite as... professional.  I still like these shots!

Houston was a small venue - well it was at the House of Blues, but it was upstairs in the... smaller room. Here's a couple venue shots.  I love that the HOB always has artwork all over!

and now for Rooney!
