Welcome to Fall

So this morning, it decided to be cold!  Well, really cool with enough of a wind chill for me to call it cold.  I generally prefer the warmer weather, but it was nice to have a cool off for Thanksgiving.  The morning started with some icy precipitation making for some lovely icicles!

Happy Thanksgiving!

There are so many things to be thankful for this year as always.  Of course I am most thankful for my friends and family and especially for those friends who are like family.  I am also especially thankful for my puppies and kitty who just make life fun!  I am also thankful for all of you who check out my blog and are a fan of my photography!  I hope you look forward to seeing what I come up with each time.

This Thanksgiving I am visiting our neighbors to the north!  No... not Canada, I mean Oklahoma!  It's been very warm here and in Texas... that is until today!  I have to say the weather picked a good day to actually start feeling like a season other than summer.  Good timing Mother Nature!  (My wintery pics from today will be my next post).

I got to set up the decorations!

I love how they turned out.

This crow was just too cute.

I love different kinds of salt and pepper shakers!  These were fun.

Asparagus!

We got to get out the good silverware!

Dive in!

It's not Thanksgiving without the dinner rolls and gravy.

The stuffing was really good - full of raisins and walnuts.

Rissa tried out a new recipe for sweet potatoes.  YUM!

I hope everyone had a wonderful meal filled with good company and some laughs.

Happy Thanksgiving!

You Can Bank on It

My girls LOVE going to the bank.  Why?  Because they get some pretty big Milk Bone dog biscuits!  If I need to go to the bank, I try to plan it so they can ride along with me.  Now Pepsi doesn't quite have the same enthusiasm for bank runs as Fajita, but I think it's because Fajita is a more seasoned bank runner.  Of course, I couldn't help myself but to snap some pics of Fajita while in the drive though.  These were taken on my cell phone so they're not the best quality, but I still have to share!

Fajita knows before we even pull in!

Information sent, and now we wait with great anticipation.

I hear it coming!

I see it!  It's so close, I can almost taste it!  (Yep, she's licking her chops!)

Victory!!

Pepsi girl got hers too!

So Happy Together

I went with my friend Angela on an engagement session.  They are a super cute couple and a lot of fun to photograph!  Here are a few of my faves from the day.

Contact Me!

I had a concept to photograph my email address to have a little contact me thing at the bottom of my blog.  I think it came out really cute.  My dad came out to see what I was working on and then thought it would be fun to take a picture with my pups under it.  This was too funny not to share....  let's just say, it didn't work out quite as he envisioned!

He got Fajita on board and Pepsi close.

Then Pepsi was on the free side.

So close!!

Oh well,  it was a great try!  Next time, we'll get out the dog treats and see if that helps!

Thanks to the Veterans!

This puts it better than I could!

 Veterans Day
By Taylor Weinman

Representing the red white and blue
The colors of our flag stand out proud and true.
The white stars on blue background with red and white stripes
Remind me of these veterans, who all risked their lives.

Just so the people of the U.S. could all live in peace and be free
These are the heroes that represent you and me.

They stood up strongly, united as one,
And kept up the fighting until they were done.
And although some have fallen, and lost their lives in war,
We pray for each one of them.

And now that their souls live on forever more,
Above in God's hands.
They watch over our nation,
And give us strength to triumph over others with strong anticipation.
So every year, when this day comes by,
Think of all the veterans that while fighting, had to die.

And remember that they were people
With fire and passion embedded inside.
They die for this country,
So remember and honor them with pride.

Happy Veterans Day!

Just 6 Days Old

My good friend Andrea and her husband Mark welcomed baby Ryan Maxwell to the world on October 25th at 10:09 am.  He weighed in at 9 pounds 12 ounces!  He was born a big boy and I think it's a very good thing that they got him early.  I think he looks so much like his daddy.  Ryan is absolutely precious, and I think unbelievably strong for being only a week old!  I didn't go to visit Ryan to take his pictures, but the camera came along and well .... I couldn't resist!

Ryan and his womb bear.

Everyone can always use a teddy bear hug!

I had painted Ryan's nursery even before we knew the little one was going to be a Ryan!  I finally got the chance to see the nursery with the furniture too!  It looks so good!

I am excited to see baby Ryan again and to take more pictures soon!
